関西2日目
和歌山城へ行く。
ほとんどが昭和に入ってからのコンクリ再建だから、建物的には見るべきものは無いんだけれども、石垣と遺構は見ごたえあり。特に石垣は、野面積みに打ち込みハギ、切り込みハギが入り混じって、ただ石垣の見本市のよう。遺構も本丸、天守曲輪を中心に、しっかりと残っているので、歩き応えがある。よく、「石垣だけで何も残ってない」なんて言う人がいるけど、石垣がきっちり残っていれば十分、というか、土塁と堀切が残っていても十分価値がある。ただ、その本丸が給水場になっていて立ち入り禁止なのがもったいない。二の丸の発掘調査と西の丸とを結ぶお橋廊下の建設工事が行われていたので、完成したら来ようかなと。
あまりの暑さと、見て回るに意外と時間がかかった関係で岸和田城に寄るのはあきらめる。蛸地蔵に戻るのも面倒だったし。
明日は大阪城。今回は珍しく夜景を撮りに行くのをやめにした。時間次第で、勝竜寺城を回るかどうか。
